Charity of the year

This year, we are pleased to announce that the Great North Air Ambulance has been chosen by employees to be Hay & Kilner Charity of the Year.

Committed to giving back

In 2022, as part of our 75th Anniversary celebrations, we partnered with environmental charity Urban Green Newcastle to plant 750 trees in parks and green spaces around the city over the next five years. This is the first corporate partnership of its type to support the improvement of the city’s green open spaces, and it is hoped that more Newcastle businesses follow suit as the charity aims to plant 5000 trees across the city by 2030 as we push towards NetZero.

We support numerous other funds and causes through corporate memberships, sponsorships and trustees for those causes close to our employees. This includes WAG & Company North East Friendship Dogs (we are a corporate friend), Foundation of Light, Gateshead Rugby Club, Community Foundation Serving Tyne & Wear and Northumberland, Newcastle Theatre Royal, The Chronicle Sunshine Fund and Beamish Museum.

Our 2022 Charity of the Year was Newcastle West End Foodbank and we were able to raise over £6,000 as well as volunteering at their warehouse.
