James Houghton

James has a broad range of experience across both contentious and non-contentious restructuring and insolvency matters.

Experience

• Advising on the out-of-court and court appointment of administrators.
• Acting for liquidators in compulsory liquidations, CVLs and MVLs.
• Advising administrators on business and assets sales, including pre-pack transactions.
• Acting for liquidators in proceedings against former directors for misfeasance.
• Advising lenders in relation to distressed customers, including carrying out security reviews and overseeing the appointment of fixed charge receivers.
• Advising creditors and debtors in connection with issuing and resisting statutory demands and winding-up petitions.

Outside of the office
James is an avid golfer and caught the travel bug after studying and working abroad.
